Your opinion of a 12 year olds poetry?

My poems:

Fearful Time

The Clock ticks, always going

Never stopping never slowing

Never pauses, doesn't miss a beat

Father time, you cannot cheat

Tick tock, Tick tock

The seconds pass you by

Those precious, little moments

That too soon say goodbye

Every minute, people sit

Waiting their lives away

Sitting, scared and timid

Afraid to seize the day

The Rocking Chair

An old lady sits in her rocking chair

Rocking the day away

Her mind fraying at the ends, ready to tear

Praying someone will visit her today

She longs to see a familiar face, a smile

To make her last few days worthwhile

Her aches and pains she cannot bear

As she rocks in her rocking chair

To the lady's dismay no one shows

No one comes, there's no one to care

As she takes her last breath she knows

All she had left was her rocking chair

Which do you like best?

How could I improve?

Your opinion of a 12 year olds poetry?
You seriously wrote this? Its simply amazing! The only way I would say you could improve is brighten up a little . But other than that I am simply amazed at this poem. Great job!
Reply:I like both there really really good
Reply:both of them are nice. i write poems to and for a 12 year old you are good. im 14 and i think i dont write as good as you
Reply:I like both of them. Maybe u should add more punctuation. I think that about all, they are really great poems.
Reply:I like the first one much better. The second one is good though. Not bad writing for a 12 year old. You got an insight that a lot of adults fail to ever achieve. Keep writing.

Spiritually speaking, does a friendly smile brighten your day?

I was in a bad mood earlier, but a familiar face smiled at me and now I'm feeling much better. Who (real people with two flesh and blood parents only) has that effect on you, and how would you like to thank them?

Spiritually speaking, does a friendly smile brighten your day?
a genuine smile of affection or friendship from anyone can brighten my day.

I teach ESL, and some of my best smiles come from the faces of my students when they overcome a difficult grammar point or when I write a big smiley face and a pentagram ( they dig it!) on their papers.

a smile from someone in traffic when I let them come into the lane.... a smile from a 9 month old baby when I make funny faces.... a smile from my son when I tell him I am proud of him.... a smile from my dog ( they DO smile) when I say the magic word : WALK!.... and a smile from my husband when I hug him close at the end of the day.

When I am on the receiving end of a sweet smile, it always brightens my day. I always thank a smile with a smile in return, and perhaps a blown kiss, under the right circumstances!

two thumbs up for your cool question!

Lady Morgana
Reply:Yes, a smile always makes me feel better especially when I sense that it may be an awkward moment between me and this person and then that reassuring smile just relaxes me and my shoulders can drop in relief

However, if my bad mood is b/c of my spouse for example then, honestly, only patching things up and seeing him give me an authentic smile will make me feel better

(((TCAS))) lol, I've been hugging you all day!!
Reply:it makes me smile when me customers come in and they are smiling.. they are coming in to pay their bills... something they don't want to do -- who wants to pay their insurance bills.. but if they can do it with a smile on their faces, then it naturally makes me smile!
Reply:well actually, it doesn't when i was on the cross, a lot of people smiled at me, i didn't feel any better, i kept telling them, I'm not the son of god, I'm an atheist, i know there is no god, but they did it anyway.
Reply:yes. smile back. grasshopper. dude.
Reply:Absolutely. A smile is also a charity, and charity is nothing but love in action.

Peace!
Reply:Babies, giggling babies always put me in a good mood, nothing makes me smile and giggle myself more then a laughing smiling baby.
Reply:It certainly does lift the spirits when someone genuinely smiles at you!

When it happens, I try to pay it forward and remember to make eye contact and smile more often when acknowledging others.
Reply:Many people have had the effect on me. They smile and I smile back. It's called courteousness. I'd like to thank God by spreading that kind of love even to people with nicknames like yours.
Reply:I did it earlier today, being invited for lunch with a friend

he made my day, since i have some troubles now :)

thanks for asking this.
Reply:A friendly smile can do wonders for a person. Anyone from your best friend to a perfect stranger can pull this off so easily.
Reply:anyone....strangers...family....loved ones... {{Hugs}} It also brightens my day when someone is in a bad day and I can brighten their day.
Reply:Yes, when my son smiles, I can't help but smile
Reply:My wife..with sex.
Reply:Yes, that is why I like to smile at people as well....
Reply:absolutely! i love smiling! it lets me know that jesus christ is all around!
Reply:Absolutely! :)

Lots of people have that effect on me but particularly my children. I just can't help smiling back when their little faces light up like that.

If it's a friend, sometimes I will write them a note thanking them for giving me a lift.

Coincidence ? I met a guy, Carlos,in march 2007 in Costa Rica in Bahia Drake. We exchanged emailsaddresses.?

But the sent messages to him failed. So I couldnt get in touch with him.Yesterday, almost 1 year later,Im in Costa R. again, taking the bus from Ciudad Neily(30min away from the border of Panama) to the capital San Jose.I wanted to take the 5 a.m. one, so that I would be early in San Jose, but I didnt hear my alarmclock so I took the next bus at 8.30 a.m. Nothing strange about that.Because a person was sitting in my seat no. 42, I took another seat in the almost empty bus : no.14.Nothing weird about that.About 30 minutes later a guy enters the bus. He came to me,telling me his ticket tells him he 's got seat no. 14. I looked at him....thinking :'you ve got a familiar face',but I didnt ask him anything.I told him someone was sitting in my seat. The bus was still pretty empty so the guy sat down somewhere else.Later the bus was filling up and the guy came back to me,asking for his seat.I had to ask. 'Are you Carlos?'.It was him indeed. So,how big is the chance meeting again this way ?

Coincidence ? I met a guy, Carlos,in march 2007 in Costa Rica in Bahia Drake. We exchanged emailsaddresses.?
The chances of this happening are slim to none. I hope the encounter was worthwhile.

I was on a bus from Quepos to San Jose at about the same time period.

This was my first trip to Costa Rica. I will be returning ASAP.

Pura Vida,

Joe

Are U voting for Mrs. Clinton, Hillary for president this 2008?

Tell me Mrs. Clinton’s high points on why she should win this 2008 presidency?

Examples include:

1. Familiar face in office.

2. Loyal wife, devoted to her work, gives live speeches, and is a well organized women.

3. Helps the public like in Medicare and Medicaid.

4. Helps with school funding and teacher income.

5. Out-reaches to the public by traveling all over the nation to hear the publics issues that need to be meet, so she can take an immediate course of action.

6. Has stood by her husbands’ side to help him win his chair in the presidency, and faced harsh criticism during Mr. Clinton's presidency, also stood strong minded and spoke out against any rebellion by the people of America and other countries during times of War in 911 and so-on.

You tell me more reason's why she should win this 2008 election?

Are U voting for Mrs. Clinton, Hillary for president this 2008?
Yes, I most DEFINITELY will be voting for her. More reasons to vote for her are:

1)Yale Law School Graduate- served as staff attorney for Children's Defense Fund- ran legal aid clinic for foster care and child abuse. Twice named in the top 100 influential attorneys in the US.

2) Crusade for universal health care for every citizen in US.

3) Strong independent thinker that acknowledges the problems in the US and has taken the harsh criticism of the media and conservative citizens with stride due to her passion to set forth much needed change.

4) She has a distinct plan to bring forth the changes that the US needs to repair our country.

5) Avid crusader of women's rights, human rights, and children.

6) She will end the cowboy politics of the Bush administration and bring troops home. She believes in spending money on domestic issues such as education, veteran benefits, insurance, etc to better our economy instead of spending trillions of US dollars on war.
Reply:How can a blatant advertisement for Hillary Clinton be allowed on Yahoo Answers? Report It

Reply:There are NO reasons why she "should win this 2008 election."
Reply:She's a brilliant woman: You've pretty much summed it up!

Hillary 08!
Reply:Isn't scared to take chances and go out on a limb standing up and speaking for what she believes in. Never walks around an issue... Takes it head on and examines every point of it. She seems VERY much more knowledgeable about many things and speaks intelligently about them.

HILLARY 2008
Reply:“The people can't make these choices, we will have to make it for them.”

Hillary Clinton

We will have to take this away from them for the "common good."

Hillary Clinton

"It takes a village to raise a child."

Hillary Clinton

"The problem in this country is too much individualism."

Hillary Clinton

NOT EVEN IF SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE RUNNING!
Reply:yes
Reply:i am a republican and i am voting for hillary!!!

shes taking a stand on helping the american indians

shes going to teach mexicans english

shes a brilliant militery stratgist
Reply:No, I'm a Democrat.
Reply:no way
Reply:She is a very intelligent person. I believe she is much smarter than any other candidate. Her education records speak for themselves. I also completely agree with her on every issue except gay marriage, and since none of the candidates support that, she's got my vote. She inspires me in so many ways. I hope she wins.
Reply:Yes i will be voting for her.

Your question pretty much sums up my reasons for voting for her in 2008.

She showed she can handle anything the GOP throws at her

.Mitt Romney, John McCain,Mike Huchabee,

Fred Thompson,Ron Paul,Rudy Giuliani.

Clinton 08
Reply:yeah sure why not? it would be intresting to have a female president!
Reply:no.

she was on the tyra banks show and she refused to answer one single question. she just danced around them

also, she's said something like, "well, at least i'll be better than bush." i don't like bush, but if that's one of the things she's saying....jeez. how lame. it sounds like that's all she's got going for her.

i know you listed all that stuff. others have said that too.
Reply:My, my, what a pretty picture you paint of Senator Clinton. One wouldn't even recognize her from your description. No, thanks.
Reply:No, I will not be voting for Hillary. I was tired of her husband when he was in office and I don't see that she would be a great deal different. Although she may have bigger balls. As for who I would vote for, none of the candidates on either side do a lot for me. This may be the year I get in the booth and flip a coin to decide.
Reply:I can give you reasons she shouldn't. Has been involved in more scandals than Al Capone married to a convicted liar, flip flops on issues to suit the moment,

has no experience hasn't even served one full term in Senate.

Voted no on making English official language of United States and marched in Gay Pride parade. How can we know where she stands when she don't?
Reply:no she will ruin our country
Reply:heLL No!
Reply:No, to me has already shown signs of a weak leader experience aside. I personally can not vote but am very impressed with Barrack Obama in the democratic campaign.
Reply:nnnnnnnnoooooooooo
Reply:I can give you dissertation on why she should not win this election

What do you think this poem is saying/?

He used to frighten me in the nights of childhood, the wide adult face, enormous, stern, aloft. I could not imagine such loneliness, such coldness.

But tonight as i drive home over these hilly roads I see him sinking behind stands of winter trees and rising again to show his familiar face.

And when he comes into full view over open fields he looks like a young man who has fallen in love with the dark earth,

a pale bachelor, well-groomed and full of melancholy, his round mouth open as if he had just broken into song.

What do you think this poem is saying/?
Talking symbolically about the moon!

What Do You Think About This Poem?

A thousand words are disguised with tears

For a life that is no longer here

The feeling of tomorrow isn’t there

A truth that is to hard to bear.

I longed to say I loved you

But the words were said to late.

And I ask myself now, was my love for you fate?

As I wander through the open world

I see the smiles of the people I knew

As I search for a familiar face

But I don’t see you,

I waited years to find the strength to let you go,

When I once had you.

And now that you’re no longer near

I must have you here.

But God Needed and Angel

He saw you suffer

He saw your tears.

He took you home far away from

All the pain

He took you home far away from

Vile rain.

You let go of the memories

The ones filled with love

You left all our memories,

For the heavens above.

But as I quest for answers and reasons

I look for your face,

There are no answers

Not one tiny trace.

Tomorrow is no guarantee

And it’s very hard for me to see

That you’re no longer here

What Do You Think About This Poem?
i think this is very touching and i can envision it as a song even....its one of those feeling poems more like prose...not every line needs to rhyme.. god speed and continue to pour your heart as you have in this poem...
Reply:unbelievable.

it was great and you might want to think about a book of poems or something. you have a gift
Reply:As poetry, it is a little difficult to read, the cadence gets a little bogged in spots, but it is an intense subject tat many have tried and few have had much success with. I could feel your anguish over the loss of a loved one, even when you knew he/she was going to leave befoehand. That's when the memories of the eyes, the voice, the way they moved all play on your mind to allow them to visit for a small bit and ease our pain, albeit temporary. Keep it up, and time and practice will make you a master.
Reply:it is VERY simply written isn't it?

try to be more adventurous with rhyme schemes and other devices

such as alliteration or assonance

other than that...it' s..fine

obviosuly written about a very personal expereince, so well done for sharing it.
Reply:Spectacular.

I been through the same kind of emotional trips before. Not the funniest thing in the world, I am proud that you would vent your emotions in such a poetic manner. Your poetry is very simple, and its meaning is hidden, but the emotion is there.

Keep writing.
