If it's my face of course it's familiar. Whether it's pretty or not is a sociocultural question. I think I'm fairly decent lookiing, at least nobody's run from me in horror yet.
Could what you see in the mirror as a pretty face actually be a familiar face?
I have been told I am a very pretty lady. I believe I have "The girl next door" look. I have been mistaken for somebody else all the time. I would rather be familiar to someone than unapproachable to many.

Reply:Frankly speaking, it have to depend on who's that familiar face. If it's your closest kins like your parents, grandparents or siblings, it will be quite comfortable. If its those friends that you hated, borrowed money, incorrigible attitudes, that will be quite / very uncomfortable.

But you see, you cannot live your life that way. You musn't let this take control of you. Seize the day because life is too short. Just relax whenever you are feeling like this, take a bath and think about why you are thinking that way. Maybe try to talk to a close friend about it. I am not going to suggest a therapist like most people because it did not work for me. I decided that I was not going to let this control my life any longer. Even though every now and then I slip up, my life is good now. Do what feels best, and don't hide. Hiding isn't what you need.

Hi all, i have a 7 1/2 daughter who has a fear of strange & familiar faces, she has screaming fits at them!?
my daughter has these horrific screaming fits when her nans, pops, aunties etc try and hold her! When i take her back she clings so tight and takes ages to settle. She was never like this until her immunisations from 4 months. So i am not sure if this is related?? She used to sleep through the night from 3 1/2 months, but now she is up on average 3 times a night, driving us crazy!! HELP!!

Reply:Stranger anxiety is completely normal for babies your daughter's age. Does she see these people on a regular basis? Even if so, it is not uncommon for her to freak out when given to them. She is going to look at you for feedback as to if these people are ok or not. When you are in the presence of company, dont force your daughter to go to anyone. You hold her. And when in conversation with whomever, smile and say to your daughter..."this is so and so...he/she is nice, its ok..." (something to that effect) and just let her feel them out. When she is ready, she may willingly go to them, if not, just let her be, tell your family not to take offense, her behavior is completely normal. It is a phase that will pass. My best guess is this is not related to her shots.
However, her night waking could be. Did she recently receive them? Immunizations throw my daughter out of whack for a bit also, and sometimes she wakes more frequently the week or so she recevies them. Give her some time. Babies are constantly developing, her schedule will regulate more as she gets older. It happens quick! Good Luck!

Here is how it works. People look at celebrities as being "larger than life." Think about it, when angelina Jolie goes off to thailand and adopts a baby. She can do this because she is famous, well known, and exceedingly RICH. How many people wish they were like that?
Most people wish they could have the "jet set" lifestyle of Leonardo decaprito, etc.. Go to the best parties, have the coolest clothes designed just for you, and be exceedingly famous. Compare that to the mundane life of shopping at walmart, trying to make ends meet, and dealing with the 2 kids at home, and the husband/wife who no longer looks like they did at 18, who have the love handles/or curves and *** from having kids... now look at the pictures of the stars... even though they have had kids (some of them naturally), they look fantastic (most people forget photoshop, and 15 rolls of film to get 6 good pictures from professional photographer, make up artists etc...)
It is called escapism, and that is the real benefit of the stars and this obsession with them.

Most of the stuff the magazines report about celebrities are not very interesting e.g Michael Jackson wearing cowboy boots (who cares!) , but sometimes a once in a lifetime thing happens e.g. Britney Spears going bald so- thats when it becomes interesting.

Please do not take offense to this question.If you do not see yourself as being judgemental, then this question does not apply to you. But for the rest who preach to those who dont follow their structure of belief. I wonder do you feel that you are being example of your faith, by judging others who do not follow yours. The word is faith right? This implys a belief of something that can not be seen. So if you have true faith in what you believe in, then there is no need to judge or convert others. Unless it is you who feel you need to be validated by what you believe in. So if that is the case, then who is it that truly lacks faith? The one who says what you believe is acceptable, or the ones who say you can only be accepted if you have faith in what I believe, because the rest is false relgion and false prohets that will lead you astray. One thing that bothers me is that not all Christians are "my way or burn" there are some that are, but because WE did not write the Bible we cannot be responsible for its contents. WE are not God and cannot make the judgements for Him. If God exists, Im sure He wants us to know who He really is and not make up a god to fit our needs.

You have valid points, but let me clarify something here. Yes, in our religion we do have faith which is the basis for our beliefs, but there is a big reason why we try to get others to convert.
Try to walk a mile in our mocassins for just a minute.
In my faith, I am told to help others. In fact our teaching shows that if someone has need of something and you can help you should do it. Also, if you see someone hurting or about to harm themselves and it's in your ability to help them, you should try to help them. So, when we see someone doing something that is harmful to themselves or ignoring what we consider the worst possible fate, we want them to avoid that situation. Perhaps our methods are wrong, but most of us share our beliefs not to be "holier than thou" or to be self-righteous or narrow-minded, but because we don't want anything bad to happen to you or to anyone else? Does that make sense?
A good analogy would be if a group of people were on the Titanic and having a wonderful party in the Grand Ballroom, and we saw the glacier, but you refused to believe that the glacier struck because you saw no evidence - our beliefs tell us that we do what we can to get you onto a lifeboat before it's too late. Perhaps if more people took the time to have gotten into the lifeboats on that ill-fated voyage, more people would have been saved in time.

What do you expect of familiar faces within the Answers community?
I am currently feeling at odds with a couple of other users, namely Judas Rabbi and Prodigal Son because I would just like them to give of themselves a bit more. I know they are both gentlemen and I know I probably am no gentleman at times but I would just like them to be less reserved and give freely of themselves: not personal details but amusing anecdotes and something which gives us an insight into their souls. I'd like them to stop being so points-hungry and work on developing their characters. The whole "man-of-mystery" bollox is really unhelpful and doesn't do much for me besides annoying me. Anyone like to respond?

Good to see you posting a question I feel I can answer...I didn't know who these people were in your last two...here's my take...don't be mad...^_-
It sounds like you have conditions on how you rate or like a person on their willingness to conform to your standard, or what you yourself are like. You have an awesome personality...and no! I'm not saying that for points...I don't care bones about points, I love the interaction.
Have you thought that perhaps your two gentlemen friends might just have those kinds of personalities...staid, laid back, go with the flow but knowledgeable and like to show it? Some people are naturally reserved and in fact many are that way because of their lack of trust in others and possibly painful memories. Not everyone lets it all hang out like me in a "in your face" kind of way...lol I'm a high extrovert with only one secret and I share that as is needed...what you see is what I am.
You say you'd like them to stop being so points hungry...but isn't that why there are points here? ...and work on developinng their characters,,, ooooh harsh catch! What if their characters are already fully developed and what if they're sensitive and you hurt them by this laconic assessment of them?
I do appreciate you honesty and ability to express your annoyance without heat, but still...I'd love the ability to ask you why you can't take them as they present themselves to be in a need for more that they might find it impossible or be willing to give?
Just my own thoughts and question, I'm sometimes overly sensitive and so I always wonder how my words are going to affect the feelings of another...

For instance.... with winter coming on, we should give a thought to the elderly who may feel the chill and not venture out as much. If you didn't see that person, would you think there was something wrong and would you be concerned enough to pop round and say hello?

Okay I'm at this mall, looking at items at a booth w/ no sales person, all of a sudden the sales girls head pops up, she say "hey, havn't I seen you before, you look very familiar", I respond I don't know you look familiar too, where do i know you from, she ask me where i'm from, say she lives around the area, asks me where i go to school, asks me my name and where i work, I then begin to inquire about the merchandise at the booth, and I tell her "where I know her from will pop in to my head later', then I leave, for about 20 mins I'm at the mall calling my friends to see if they know this girl, I go back and tell her that none of my friends know a "joy", then she say her real name is julie something, I tell her I dont know many julies, then she says "how old are you" I respond 21, she say your too young this isn't going to work", I respond yeah, but "where do I know you from?" she says we probably saw eachother around. Was she saying this kind of sh*t as a sales tactic/ or wtf?

A woman was thinking about finding a pet to help keep her company at home. She decided she would like to find a beautiful parrot. It wouldn't be as much work as a dog, and it would be fun to hear it speak.
She went to a pet shop and immediately spotted a large beautiful parrot. She went to the owner of the store and asked how much the bird cost. The owner said it was $50. Delighted that such a rare looking and beautiful bird wasn't more expensive, she agreed to buy it.
The owner looked at her and said, "Look, I should tell you first that this bird used to live in a whorehouse. Sometimes it says some pretty vulgar stuff."
The woman thought about this, but decided she had to have the bird. She told the owner that she still wanted the bird. The pet shop owner sold her the bird and she took it home. She hung the bird's cage up in her living room and waited for it to say something.
