Okay, so I'm a sophomore in college who spent the first 19ish years of my life without experiencing anything resembling love. However, for that time, I was happy without it. Here's where my problem starts. A girl who I went to high school with came to the same college as me, and we happened to share a class. I started talking with her, because she was a familiar face (I'm pretty anti-social). After a while, we started hanging out outside of class (nothing big, we'd just occasionally get dinner together, just as friends). One evening, I realized that I felt distinctly happy when I was around her, no matter how I felt earlier in the day; also, I found myself always thinking about her. I finally built up the courage to tell her how I felt, and she gave me the "let's just be friends" treatment. Seeing as I respect her so much, I was okay with that. However, now she never wants to see me again. I still love her, but I respect her too much to go to her room and talk to her.
Classic "I love her, she hates me" scenario?
Give it some time, basically leave her alone for about a week and a half, and then ask her if you can talk to her real quick, sometimes women get uncomfortable when a guy likes them and they don't like them in return, it's very intimidating because there's always the feeling as if they 'owe' something.
So like I said, give some time, and then later on just say "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable, can we be just friends?"
I think that will make her more at ease to mention what's on her mind, and you and her may have a shot at being friends.
This situation happened between me and this one guy where he liked me, and I felt intimidated/uncomfortable, and I ended up hating him for a while, but now after he handled it like that we've become incredibly close and I trust him...I'm in a relationship now, but if I wasn't, maybe I really would consider actually dating him.

I am already pledged to a candidate based on my intensive research on everyone in the field and meeting a few of them.

DO YOU NEED A UP GRADE
Yeah we all jammed to Beyonce’s song Let Me up Grade You, we snapped our finger and bobbed our heads, I hear you be the block but I’m the light that keeps the streets on. You feel me. But the up grade I’m talking about is the one from my Father my all mighty savior. My pastor preached on this sermon this past Sunday. While pastor was preaching the Lord spoke to me. You see this is not the first time he has spoken to me. It could be the first time I may have listen. He tells me he wants me to speak his word, but I don’t believe I’m ready yet. Yes I have found him, but I’m not holy. I love gospel but that is not the only music I listen to, when my children or my husband is on my last nerve I don’t always speak calm and proper. So how am I able to speak his word I can’t even speak correct English and have a hard time writing it. Everyday in someway he tells me this is what he wants me to do. So is this his way of up grading me?
Can you think of a way that he has spoken to you? Has he laid it out for you but you’re not willing to commit? Do you not think that you are worthy? Sometime God blesses us with things that we don’t believe that we can do. If you don’t take control of that blessing you will lose it. I’ve been dealing with this for a long time. Lord I don’t have time for that, I ‘m to busy. Then it hit me what if he’s to busy for me? I’m I not going to get that job that I’ve been praying for, is my marriage going to fail because it is not covered in his blood the blood that I’ve prayed for. The answer is yes. If we continue to ignore him he will eventually ignore us. But he will never let you down like some fathers on earth have. He will forever be by your side. Being the children that we are to him sometimes we are punished.
Some of us (me) we want things to happen right away when we pray for them. Not all the times this happens. You must continue to have faith and live by his word. First you have to be restored with the word. What does that mean? Once I really got in to church I began to really understand what that meant. My grandmother raised her family in church, but back then we couldn’t wait to set down and right notes to one another. If we weren’t going to lead the choir in a song it sure was going to be a boring 2 hours. Yeah we hard the words but were we soaking it in I wasn’t. Then I got older and church was like an attendance record. Girl let me go to church so when Easter came’s they want be saying she just came’s to church on Easter. I began attending my church and every attendance the word got deeper to me, deeper, deeper, and deeper. I began understanding the word clearly. The song the Lord Has Smiles On Me brought tears to my eyes. This is a song that I grow up singing never had it ever affected me before. Amazing graze how sweet the sound that saved a ranch like me I get so happy that I’m shouting in my mind THAT’S ME THERE TALKING ABOUT ME. I sure was blind but thank God now I see. I sit in church and cry and cry people on the sides of me think I’m crying because I’m hurting but that’s not the case. I’m crying because I’ve found him (GOD) I’m crying because I’m HAPPY. I once was like that person going up to the alter wanting to give up on EVERYTHING didn’t think my life could ever get any better. BUT I FOUND HIM I FOUND HIM and because I found him I know that they are going to be all right.
You have to be repositioned by the word. God’s way of blessing you is not your way of blessing you sometimes you have to go through HELL. GOD wants you to have so much more in life but some time’s you must get cut to get it. Some single woman maybe out there lonely depressed because they don’t have a man. You may slip on your way trying to find one. That slipping my have caused you your blessing in that good man that you have been waiting on is delayed because you must be punished first. Sisters yeah that sister might have that good man, but you never know what she’s been through to get him. Yeah that married couple is always smiling and happy but you don’t know what brought them to that point. First I should have told you DON’T BUT YOUR TRUST AND MAN! By saying man I mean human I talking to the guys to. Humans will only let you down. God knows your heart he knows what is best for you. I’m telling you this because I learned it the hard way. Some may say that I married at a young age 20 years old. I don’t believe I was young I was in love and my love for my husband is still as strong as when I first fell in love with him. The only thing that has changed is that I’m learning how to love him the way God wants me to. Not saying that I’m perfect because I’m not close to it. No, this just didn’t happen all of a sudden, it took me awhile to realize I can’t fix everything on my own. I had fallen down but God lifted me back up. Through it all I learned that I’m not the woman God wants me to be and if I don’t put him first I will never receive all that he has for me. Some women want children but they are not able to bear them. Some are out here dropping them like it’s hot in the words of Snoop and not taken care of them. What ever it is that you have in your heart that you desires God does make miracles. Sometime you have to dig deeper in order to find out what you have to do to receive that miracle. God is telling you something you just have to open your ears and listen to what ever he tells you to do LISTEN and OBEY. One day in church one of my classmates walked in with her sister, when I seen them God spoke to me. He told me that the two woman were going to go up to the alter for pray and when they do go up join them hug them let them know that it is nothing to be ashamed of that He is with them. Now in school this girl and I were not exactly friends in fact we finished school on a sour note. When it came time for the alter call they did go up to the alter. I fought it and fought I’m like God that girl is not going to trust me she is going to look at me like I’m crazy. My church asks the people that go to the alter to follow in a line and everyone goes to the back and writes down there pray request. My classmate in her sister set back down they didn’t go to the back. I could have been the familiar face that comfort them and let them know that everything was going to be alright, but I didn’t. The second time he spoke to me my niece received a kidney transplant within 2 years that is truly a blessing. Her mother called me to get the number to the newspaper and news channel. He told me Tiffany make sure she mentions my name. I’m like so I’m suppose to just say Net (her mother) make sure you tell Rasha to say that God did this for her. I hesitated but I told her. In today I’m writing my third message he told me to take my pastors message and make it into my own. I did.
Reward in the word. God wants you to have more you have to get cut to get it. I’ve been cut and stabbed and I’ve made it. I wrote poems before I’ve sent out stuff before but I’m not a good writer. I write how I say it and some may say it’s not correct English. Yeah I fought him with this one, but I did it. I love him so I’m willing to make a fool out of myself. I said that I was going to send it out to my cousin Tameka to proof read like I always do he told me no this is your words they need to hear it from you. They need to know that God children are not perfect we all have flaws. I don’t know what my purpose in life is but what ever he has planed for me I’m rolling with it. You see there is a great reward at the end. You may laugh at me you may criticizes me, but I told you in paragraph 3 that I don’t put my trust in man because they will always let you down. God has a great reward for that single mother, that childless sister, that woman that thinks her marriage is over, that woman with cancer, that child that is being bulled at school, that single father, that husband that is just about ready to give up, that student that doesn’t think college is for them, that girl who thinks by given her boyfriend everything he wants it will make him love her. God is talking to you its time for YOUR UP GRADE are you ready to receive it.
Now by me writing this to you doesn’t mean that you want see me dancing to my favorite song, drinking my favorite drink it means God is changing me I just have to be willing to receive it. I am I may slip up at time but again I’m human. If he did it for me trust me he can do it for you.

From the moment of creation, every man is endowed with the faculty of conceiving the existence of God through the use of his conscience and wisdom.
It is a clear fact that everything in the universe, down to the slightest detail, is the creation of God. Everything surrounding us is solid evidence of the existence of God. God created birds flying in the sky; fish in the depths of the ocean; camels in the desert or penguins at the south pole; the bacteria in our body, invisible to the naked eye, fruits, plants, clouds, planets, and glorious galaxies in the most complete state, and equipped them all with delicate systems and superior characteristics.
Similarly, all systems supporting life on earth are based on very delicate balances. Very slight, even millimetric variations or deviations in these balances would render life on earth impossible. A brief examination of these balances reveals the extraordinary calculation and design inherent in them. For instance, if the earth revolved at a slower speed around the sun, it would result in huge temperature differences between day and night. A faster speed, on the other hand, would mean the occurrence of hurricanes and floods, a serious challenge to existence on earth.
Likewise, there are many other delicate balances making the earth a life-supporting planet and it is unlikely that they could have come into existence by chance. Accordingly, it is impossible that a wise man would attribute such exquisite balances and calculations to blind chance. A car or a camera reminds man of the existence of a conscious designer. Similarly, one should conclude that the universe, with its glorious interrelated web of systems, is not a self-governing entity which came into existence all by itself. God frequently draws our attention to the evidence of creation:
It is He Who sends down water from the sky. From it you drink and from it come the shrubs among which you graze your herds. And by it He makes crops grow for you and olives and dates and grapes and fruit of every kind. There is certainly a Sign in that for people who reflect. He has made night and day subservient to you, and the sun and moon and stars, all subject to His command. There are certainly Signs in that for people who use their intellect. And also in the things of varying colours He has created for you on the earth, there is certainly a Sign for people who pay heed. (Surat an-Nahl: 10-13)
Is He, then, Who creates like him who does not create? So will you not pay heed? (Surat an-Nahl: 17)
Pondering over the issues mentioned in the above verses surely suffices to make one, albeit, totally deprived of religious knowledge, conceive of the existence of God and appreciate His power and might. Just considering one's body, a composition of interrelated complex systems, makes one conscious of the superior creation of God.
Consequently, one, who is even unaware of the book revealed by God, can reach God through observation and contemplation of his surroundings. For people of understanding, the world overflows with evidence:
In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are Signs for people with intelligence: those who remember God, standing, sitting and lying on their sides, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth, saying: "Our Lord! You have not created this for nothing. Glory be to you! So safeguard us from the punishment of the Fire." (Surah Al 'Imran: 190-191)
At this point, the need for religion becomes more apparent. This is simply because one who perceives the existence of his Creator would surely like to feel closer to Him, know Him better and find ways to attain His love and mercy; and the only way to do this is to have a good understanding of the values of the Quran, the unchanged word of God and the divine book of Islam, the religion of truth.

In every age, God sent down messengers and books to man, thereby introducing Himself to man, instructing him about the attitudes, behaviour, moral values and life style He has designed us for. They informed man about the true meanings of the concepts of good and bad, right and wrong, making us aware of the life after death, the rewards for those who obey God and the punishment awaiting the rebellious ones.
In this way, God explained every issue man needs to know throughout his life by means of divine religions. All information pertaining to a fulfilling and rewarding life both in this world and beyond is provided to man. This basic purpose of righteous religions conveyed to man through messengers and books is given in many verses in the Quran:
…We have sent down the Book to you making all things clear and as guidance and mercy and good news for the Muslims. (Surat an-Nahl: 89)
We have sent it down with truth and with truth it has come down. We only sent you to bring good news and to give warning. (Surat al-Isra': 105)
Then We gave Musa the Book, complete and perfect for him who does good, elucidating everything, and a guidance and a mercy, so that hopefully they will believe in their encounter with their Lord. (Surat al-An'am: 154)
(The Quran Explains the Real Purpose of Life)
Throughout world history, billions of people came into being, lived and then died. Only a minority of these people endeavoured to grasp the real purpose of life. The rest simply drifted with the daily flow of events and spent their lives in vain pursuits. Basically, fulfilling their own desires became their main purpose in life. An unconscious and irresponsible attitude underlay this dominant mode of behaviour in almost all societies throughout ages. Every generation, with a few exceptions, repeated the errors of the preceding ones and simply adopted the purposes and values of their forefathers. This is a vicious cycle still repeated today.
The majority of people are enslaved by "unvarying" philosophies and principles, which are mostly based on the following line of reasoning: Man comes into existence, becomes adult, grows old and dies. One is born only once, and death puts an end to everything. This is why people have to "make the most of life" and strive to satisfy their whims and desires throughout their lives.
Thus, people come to spend their lives which they think to be their one and only chance by adhering to the life style and mode of behaviour they inherit from past generations. In a spirit totally deprived of the awareness of death, they make pursuing pleasures and planning for the future the ultimate aims of their lives. Regardless of cultural and social differences, this fact holds true for all people. A prestigious education, an admirable position in business life, high standards of living, a happy family and countless similar goals become the unchanging pursuits of life.
These goals can be further extended and would fill many pages if enumerated. However, the truth is, all these people turn a blind eye to the one and only reason for their existence. Meanwhile, they spend a whole life, which is a unique opportunity offered to them to accomplish their ultimate purpose, in vain. This ultimate purpose is to be a servant of God. This is explained in the Quran as follows:
I only created jinn and man to worship Me. (Surat adh-Dhariyat: 56)
The way to be a good servant of God is also communicated in the Quran. Being a servant of God means accepting the unity and existence of God; knowing His attributes and appreciating His majesty, serving no other deity except Him and devoting one's life to earning His approval. In the Quran, the moral values and lifestyle favoured by God are described in detail and people are summoned to this way of living.
A person living within the boundaries set by these values is given the good tidings of a perfect life both in this world and beyond. Otherwise, a bitter end awaits man.
The lifestyle one adheres to in this world shapes his eternal life. After death, there is no opportunity whatsoever to compensate for one's reprehensible deeds. Therefore, behaving as if man owes his existence in this world to coincidences, as if he is not bounded by any limits, and as if he has come to this world to spend his life in the pursuit of vain desires would ultimately lead to his own ruination. Those behaving irresponsibly towards their Creator, ignoring the real purpose of their existence, and remaining unconcerned about its consequences in the life beyond will be chided thus in the Hereafter:
Did you suppose that We created you for amusement and that you would not return to Us? (Surat al-Mu'minun: 115)
In reality, such people are not unaware of their purpose in life: God proclaimed it through His messengers and books and provided guidance to the true path. Furthermore, man is granted a lifetime to take warning. A show of regret by those who, having turned a deaf ear to all these opportunities, have deviated from their real purpose in life and pursued their own desires will not save them from torment:
They will shout out in it: "Our Lord! Take us out! We will act rightly, differently from the way we used to act!" But He will answer: "Did We not let you live long enough for anyone who was going to pay heed to pay heed? And did not the warner come to you? Have a taste of it then! There is no helper for the wrongdoers." (Surah Fatir: 37)

You have to be repositioned by the word. God’s way of blessing you is not your way of blessing you sometimes you have to go through HELL. GOD wants you to have so much more in life but some time’s you must get cut to get it. Some single woman maybe out there lonely depressed because they don’t have a man. You may slip on your way trying to find one. That slipping my have caused you your blessing in that good man that you have been waiting on is delayed because you must be punished first. Sisters yeah that sister might have that good man, but you never know what she’s been through to get him. Yeah that married couple is always smiling and happy but you don’t know what brought them to that point. First I should have told you DON’T BUT YOUR TRUST AND MAN! By saying man I mean human I talking to the guys to. Humans will only let you down. God knows your heart he knows what is best for you. I’m telling you this because I learned it the hard way. Some may say that I married at a young age 20 years old. I don’t believe I was young I was in love and my love for my husband is still as strong as when I first fell in love with him. The only thing that has changed is that I’m learning how to love him the way God wants me to. Not saying that I’m perfect because I’m not close to it. No, this just didn’t happen all of a sudden, it took me awhile to realize I can’t fix everything on my own. I had fallen down but God lifted me back up. Through it all I learned that I’m not the woman God wants me to be and if I don’t put him first I will never receive all that he has for me. Some women want children but they are not able to bear them. Some are out here dropping them like it’s hot in the words of Snoop and not taken care of them. What ever it is that you have in your heart that you desires God does make miracles. Sometime you have to dig deeper in order to find out what you have to do to receive that miracle. God is telling you something you just have to open your ears and listen to what ever he tells you to do LISTEN and OBEY. One day in church one of my classmates walked in with her sister, when I seen them God spoke to me. He told me that the two woman were going to go up to the alter for pray and when they do go up join them hug them let them know that it is nothing to be ashamed of that He is with them. Now in school this girl and I were not exactly friends in fact we finished school on a sour note. When it came time for the alter call they did go up to the alter. I fought it and fought I’m like God that girl is not going to trust me she is going to look at me like I’m crazy. My church asks the people that go to the alter to follow in a line and everyone goes to the back and writes down there pray request. My classmate in her sister set back down they didn’t go to the back. I could have been the familiar face that comfort them and let them know that everything was going to be alright, but I didn’t. The second time he spoke to me my niece received a kidney transplant within 2 years that is truly a blessing. Her mother called me to get the number to the newspaper and news channel. He told me Tiffany make sure she mentions my name. I’m like so I’m suppose to just say Net (her mother) make sure you tell Rasha to say that God did this for her. I hesitated but I told her. In today I’m writing my third message he told me to take my pastors message and make it into my own. I did.
Reward in the word. God wants you to have more you have to get cut to get it. I’ve been cut and stabbed and I’ve made it. I wrote poems before I’ve sent out stuff before but I’m not a good writer. I write how I say it and some may say it’s not correct English. Yeah I fought him with this one, but I did it. I love him so I’m willing to make a fool out of myself. I said that I was going to send it out to my cousin Tameka to proof read like I always do he told me no this is your words they need to hear it from you. They need to know that God children are not perfect we all have flaws. I don’t know what my purpose in life is but what ever he has planed for me I’m rolling with it. You see there is a great reward at the end. You may laugh at me you may criticizes me, but I told you in paragraph 3 that I don’t put my trust in man because they will always let you down. God has a great reward for that single mother, that childless sister, that woman that thinks her marriage is over, that woman with cancer, that child that is being bulled at school, that single father, that husband that is just about ready to give up, that student that doesn’t think college is for them, that girl who thinks by given her boyfriend everything he wants it will make him love her. God is talking to you its time for YOUR UP GRADE are you ready to receive it.
Now by me writing this to you doesn’t mean that you want see me dancing to my favorite song, drinking my favorite drink it means God is changing me I just have to be willing to receive it. I am I may slip up at time but again I’m human. If he did it for me trust me he can do it for you.

From the moment of creation, every man is endowed with the faculty of conceiving the existence of God through the use of his conscience and wisdom.
It is a clear fact that everything in the universe, down to the slightest detail, is the creation of God. Everything surrounding us is solid evidence of the existence of God. God created birds flying in the sky; fish in the depths of the ocean; camels in the desert or penguins at the south pole; the bacteria in our body, invisible to the naked eye, fruits, plants, clouds, planets, and glorious galaxies in the most complete state, and equipped them all with delicate systems and superior characteristics.
Similarly, all systems supporting life on earth are based on very delicate balances. Very slight, even millimetric variations or deviations in these balances would render life on earth impossible. A brief examination of these balances reveals the extraordinary calculation and design inherent in them. For instance, if the earth revolved at a slower speed around the sun, it would result in huge temperature differences between day and night. A faster speed, on the other hand, would mean the occurrence of hurricanes and floods, a serious challenge to existence on earth.
Likewise, there are many other delicate balances making the earth a life-supporting planet and it is unlikely that they could have come into existence by chance. Accordingly, it is impossible that a wise man would attribute such exquisite balances and calculations to blind chance. A car or a camera reminds man of the existence of a conscious designer. Similarly, one should conclude that the universe, with its glorious interrelated web of systems, is not a self-governing entity which came into existence all by itself. God frequently draws our attention to the evidence of creation:
It is He Who sends down water from the sky. From it you drink and from it come the shrubs among which you graze your herds. And by it He makes crops grow for you and olives and dates and grapes and fruit of every kind. There is certainly a Sign in that for people who reflect. He has made night and day subservient to you, and the sun and moon and stars, all subject to His command. There are certainly Signs in that for people who use their intellect. And also in the things of varying colours He has created for you on the earth, there is certainly a Sign for people who pay heed. (Surat an-Nahl: 10-13)
Is He, then, Who creates like him who does not create? So will you not pay heed? (Surat an-Nahl: 17)
Pondering over the issues mentioned in the above verses surely suffices to make one, albeit, totally deprived of religious knowledge, conceive of the existence of God and appreciate His power and might. Just considering one's body, a composition of interrelated complex systems, makes one conscious of the superior creation of God.
Consequently, one, who is even unaware of the book revealed by God, can reach God through observation and contemplation of his surroundings. For people of understanding, the world overflows with evidence:
In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are Signs for people with intelligence: those who remember God, standing, sitting and lying on their sides, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth, saying: "Our Lord! You have not created this for nothing. Glory be to you! So safeguard us from the punishment of the Fire." (Surah Al 'Imran: 190-191)
At this point, the need for religion becomes more apparent. This is simply because one who perceives the existence of his Creator would surely like to feel closer to Him, know Him better and find ways to attain His love and mercy; and the only way to do this is to have a good understanding of the values of the Quran, the unchanged word of God and the divine book of Islam, the religion of truth.

In every age, God sent down messengers and books to man, thereby introducing Himself to man, instructing him about the attitudes, behaviour, moral values and life style He has designed us for. They informed man about the true meanings of the concepts of good and bad, right and wrong, making us aware of the life after death, the rewards for those who obey God and the punishment awaiting the rebellious ones.
In this way, God explained every issue man needs to know throughout his life by means of divine religions. All information pertaining to a fulfilling and rewarding life both in this world and beyond is provided to man. This basic purpose of righteous religions conveyed to man through messengers and books is given in many verses in the Quran:
…We have sent down the Book to you making all things clear and as guidance and mercy and good news for the Muslims. (Surat an-Nahl: 89)
We have sent it down with truth and with truth it has come down. We only sent you to bring good news and to give warning. (Surat al-Isra': 105)
Then We gave Musa the Book, complete and perfect for him who does good, elucidating everything, and a guidance and a mercy, so that hopefully they will believe in their encounter with their Lord. (Surat al-An'am: 154)

Throughout world history, billions of people came into being, lived and then died. Only a minority of these people endeavoured to grasp the real purpose of life. The rest simply drifted with the daily flow of events and spent their lives in vain pursuits. Basically, fulfilling their own desires became their main purpose in life. An unconscious and irresponsible attitude underlay this dominant mode of behaviour in almost all societies throughout ages. Every generation, with a few exceptions, repeated the errors of the preceding ones and simply adopted the purposes and values of their forefathers. This is a vicious cycle still repeated today.
The majority of people are enslaved by "unvarying" philosophies and principles, which are mostly based on the following line of reasoning: Man comes into existence, becomes adult, grows old and dies. One is born only once, and death puts an end to everything. This is why people have to "make the most of life" and strive to satisfy their whims and desires throughout their lives.
Thus, people come to spend their lives which they think to be their one and only chance by adhering to the life style and mode of behaviour they inherit from past generations. In a spirit totally deprived of the awareness of death, they make pursuing pleasures and planning for the future the ultimate aims of their lives. Regardless of cultural and social differences, this fact holds true for all people. A prestigious education, an admirable position in business life, high standards of living, a happy family and countless similar goals become the unchanging pursuits of life.
These goals can be further extended and would fill many pages if enumerated. However, the truth is, all these people turn a blind eye to the one and only reason for their existence. Meanwhile, they spend a whole life, which is a unique opportunity offered to them to accomplish their ultimate purpose, in vain. This ultimate purpose is to be a servant of God. This is explained in the Quran as follows:
I only created jinn and man to worship Me. (Surat adh-Dhariyat: 56)
The way to be a good servant of God is also communicated in the Quran. Being a servant of God means accepting the unity and existence of God; knowing His attributes and appreciating His majesty, serving no other deity except Him and devoting one's life to earning His approval. In the Quran, the moral values and lifestyle favoured by God are described in detail and people are summoned to this way of living.
A person living within the boundaries set by these values is given the good tidings of a perfect life both in this world and beyond. Otherwise, a bitter end awaits man.
The lifestyle one adheres to in this world shapes his eternal life. After death, there is no opportunity whatsoever to compensate for one's reprehensible deeds. Therefore, behaving as if man owes his existence in this world to coincidences, as if he is not bounded by any limits, and as if he has come to this world to spend his life in the pursuit of vain desires would ultimately lead to his own ruination. Those behaving irresponsibly towards their Creator, ignoring the real purpose of their existence, and remaining unconcerned about its consequences in the life beyond will be chided thus in the Hereafter:
Did you suppose that We created you for amusement and that you would not return to Us? (Surat al-Mu'minun: 115)
In reality, such people are not unaware of their purpose in life: God proclaimed it through His messengers and books and provided guidance to the true path. Furthermore, man is granted a lifetime to take warning. A show of regret by those who, having turned a deaf ear to all these opportunities, have deviated from their real purpose in life and pursued their own desires will not save them from torment:
They will shout out in it: "Our Lord! Take us out! We will act rightly, differently from the way we used to act!" But He will answer: "Did We not let you live long enough for anyone who was going to pay heed to pay heed? And did not the warner come to you? Have a taste of it then! There is no helper for the wrongdoers." (Surah Fatir: 37)

I have to somehow relate each stage to an event in the Odyssey:
1. ORDINARY WORLD: “In The Hero with a Thousand Faces, Joseph Campbell describes the beginning of the typical hero’s journey. ‘A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder…’”
2. CALL TO ADVENTURE: “The Call to Adventure may come in the form of a message or a messenger. It may be a new event like a declaration of war, or the arrival of a telegram reporting that the outlaws have just been released from prison and will be in town on the noon train to gun down the sheriff.”
3. REFUSAL OF THE CALL: “Some of us turn down the quest, some hesitate, some are tugged at by families who fear for our lives and don’t want us to go. You hear people mutter that the journey is foolhardy, doomed from the start. You feel fear constricting your breathing and making your heart race.”
4. MEETING WITH THE MENTOR: “By this time many stories will have introduced a Merlin-like character who is the hero’s Mentor. The relationship between hero and Mentor is one of the most common themes in mythology, and one of the richest in its symbolic value. It stands for the bond between parent and child, teacher and student, doctor and patient, god and man.
5. CROSSING OF THE FIRST THRESHOLD: “The task for heroes at this point is often to figure out some way around or through these guardians. Reply:Would you settle for some clues? Don't forget, there's not only Odysseus's Hero's Journey, but also one for Telemachus (books 1-4, and some at the end). So, if the assignment doesn't specify, you can use either.
Also, I'm going by memory here, so use your judgment and check out anything I write.
1. Even though Greek mythology is filled with all kinds of beings that supposedly exist, or used to exist, on earth, that doesn't mean that Homer necessarily believed that the gods and creatures like the Sirens did, in fact, exist. The experts believe that Homer may very well have seen them as fantastic (supernatural) creatures.
2. Messenger of the gods. Wings, funny-looking hat... :-) The message itself may not have been given directly to Odysseus (I just don't remember), but it was about him and is important.
3. No clue. I don't recall a refusal.
4. Mentor: Who helps Odysseus, and helped to save his life more than once? It's the same one who also helps Telemachus in the first 4 books.
5. Too many things are coming to mind, so I'll pass on this, too.
6. Pretty much his entire journey is a road of trials (his "road" being the sea, of course, and even when he finally arrives at Ithaca).
7. This should be easy. What's the strangest, most unexpected place, Odysseus visits? Hint: Every hero in every ancient epic has visited this Place.
8. It must have happened in the Place referred to in #7.
9. Reward: He receives several, of two kinds that I recall (material rewards and an offer [hint: Nausicaa]), on the last stop before Ithaca.
10. Fairly obvious. About a change in aim: Remember that Odysseus has no idea of what's been going on in Ithaca, what Penelope and Telemachus have been dealing with for about 9 years.

Neighbor stole my cat?
Ok so we got a cat a few months ago for our daughter,adopted her from the local shelter. She was an indoor cat and oneday got out never to be seen again...or so i thought. We noticed just recently a familiar face looking out the nieghbors window..Its our cat. We had posted lost cat signs and everything and they never called to tell us. Our cat has peculiar markings so we KNOW this is ours..what should we do. She is microchipped but still under the Humane Society,we never had a chance to change it to our name. we have missed our kitty dearly, and now know where she has been all this time.
Neighbor stole my cat?

Reply:Ok I would report the cat stolen and have them go to the neighbors house and get the cat.
The cats microchip will show the cat from the Human Society and then you can get your cat back as it will be recorded that you own the cat through the human society. You could also try and talk to the neighbor and tell them that the cat has a microchip and that you can prove the cat is yours and if they dont return it that you can report the cat as stolen and go from there.
You should get your cat back either way.
Reply:THe best thing you can do is talk to them and let them know that she was an indoor cat but escaped. Let them know that she is microchipped and you can prove (or the Humane Society can vouch for you) that it is your cat. That's what microchipping is all about. Perhaps they took the cat in because it didn't have a collar, not being aware of microchips. Maybe they just love her and dont want to give her up. If you really have a great home why dont you invite your neighbor over to "inspect" and she will probably give the cat back. If not, time to call the humane society and ask for help. Good luck!

Reply:The Humane Society will know that that cat was adopted by you. Go to them and tell them what happened and then get in touch with your neighbour and tell her the cat is microchiped you don`t need to tell her its not in your name and if she will not return the cat you will go to the police. I f you have to go to the police they will be able to find out who really owns that cat, You.
Reply:I'd be really pissed off and probably just go get it. If someone stole either of my cats and I found them - nothing short of death could stop me. This situation really has to strain the neighborhood vibe.
The unfortunate thing nobody has mentioned is that the cat probably has bonded with your neighbor by now. The poor cat is the ultimate victim - already having to endure multiple family changes.
Reply:Go to your neibhors house and ask for your cat back. If that doesn't work then call the police. You also might want to have the Cops already contacted before you go to the door because they may not gve that cat back and maybe already havng a police there with you will scare them into giving your cat back.
Reply:As others have said, the chip will be traced back to the humane society and they will have you on record as adopting the cat.

Yet, life is very unsure and scary for you and all of the fears of "what could happen" flood your mind and stifle you.

Seeing as Bill has been doing a lot of heavy lifting for her campaign and he's a familiar face, I dont;t beleive she would be in contention if she was 'on her own' so to speak.

I was in a bad mood earlier, but a familiar face smiled at me and now I'm feeling much better. Who (real people with two flesh and blood parents only) has that effect on you, and how would you like to thank them?

a genuine smile of affection or friendship from anyone can brighten my day.
I teach ESL, and some of my best smiles come from the faces of my students when they overcome a difficult grammar point or when I write a big smiley face and a pentagram ( they dig it!) on their papers.
a smile from someone in traffic when I let them come into the lane.... a smile from a 9 month old baby when I make funny faces.... a smile from my son when I tell him I am proud of him.... a smile from my dog ( they DO smile) when I say the magic word : WALK!.... and a smile from my husband when I hug him close at the end of the day.
When I am on the receiving end of a sweet smile, it always brightens my day. I always thank a smile with a smile in return, and perhaps a blown kiss, under the right circumstances!

I teach ESL, and some of my best smiles come from the faces of my students when they overcome a difficult grammar point or when I write a big smiley face and a pentagram ( they dig it!) on their papers.
a smile from someone in traffic when I let them come into the lane.... a smile from a 9 month old baby when I make funny faces.... a smile from my son when I tell him I am proud of him.... a smile from my dog ( they DO smile) when I say the magic word : WALK!.... and a smile from my husband when I hug him close at the end of the day.
When I am on the receiving end of a sweet smile, it always brightens my day. I always thank a smile with a smile in return, and perhaps a blown kiss, under the right circumstances!

I could feel your anguish over the loss of a loved one, even when you knew he/she was going to leave befoehand. That's when the memories of the eyes, the voice, the way they moved all play on your mind to allow them to visit for a small bit and ease our pain, albeit temporary. Keep it up, and time and practice will make you a master.

Two-way Mirror?
Imagine your on an old ship (the ones back in the 1800s) and pirates were still around.
So I was a passenger on a ship (destination unknown) and I had had this dream once before. I would peer out the window to see a pirate ship emerging from the water (like POTC:2) headed for our ship. The first dream I found a hatch and unlocked it and climbed in and stayed there until I woke up, this time the hatch was occupied by a familiar face. I proceeded to the rich peoples area to see the captain and some crew members around including an old lover. I jumped into this closet and I noticed I could see out of the mirror yet no one could see me. Obviously some saw me go in there including my old lover. A random lady opens the door saying something and by her face i could tell the pirates were on board and approaching. I shut the door and noticed my old lover staring at me even though she couldn't see me. She motioned for me to come here and as i opened the door the pirate man was there and iawoke

My chihuahua was bitten by a rattlesnake (UPDATE & NEW QUESTION)?
My chihuahua was bitten couple of days ago and ended up in the ER. After two days of treatment, he seems to be doing well. The swelling on his face has gone down but they won't let him leave until he eats. He hasn't eaten in two days.
So anyone know why he isn't eating? Is it all the drugs they gave him or maybe just the shock of being caged for the first time in his life? Gonna go visit him today to see if maybe he'll eat when he sees a familiar face.
Also, does he have to be on antibiotics after he comes home? What other drugs?

One of the proteins in rattle snake venom is a neurotoxin. Since gastric system is controlled by nerves it may take awhile for him to feel hungry and any food he eats may end up blocking his gastric tract. Let the vet feed him through his veins for as long as it takes for him to begin eating. He will eat when he is ready. Best of luck for a speedy recovery.
Reply:Incredible its still alive!!! Snake venom causes "necrosis". Necrosis is a fancy term for "death of tissue". Not knowing how deeply the fangs injected the venom, the brain could be swollen, he is in much pain... animals who are in pain won't eat. Ask the vet:
1. has he had pain meds?
2.What does xrays show?
3. What particularly has the vet done for treatment?
4. Antibiotics MIGHT be ordered, to counteract the necrosis.. dead tissue rots, often forming a general over all toxicity. Puppers is NOT out of the woods yet. Do carry every known type of his food with you AND an article of clothing you have worn but not washed,(that you can afford to throw away) so you can leave it with him to help him feel safer in a strange place. Best WISHES for you both!
Reply:It is probably a combination of the two. The meds %26amp; being caged for the first time. He may miss you too. That can make a dog not eat. Bet he will when you go see him. Most likely he will have to be on antibiotics for a week or so after he comes home. Not sure what else he will have to take if anything. I'm glad he's alive too.

Reply:Incredible its still alive!!! Snake venom causes "necrosis". Necrosis is a fancy term for "death of tissue". Not knowing how deeply the fangs injected the venom, the brain could be swollen, he is in much pain... animals who are in pain won't eat. Ask the vet:
1. has he had pain meds?
2.What does xrays show?
3. What particularly has the vet done for treatment?
4. Antibiotics MIGHT be ordered, to counteract the necrosis.. dead tissue rots, often forming a general over all toxicity. Puppers is NOT out of the woods yet. Do carry every known type of his food with you AND an article of clothing you have worn but not washed,(that you can afford to throw away) so you can leave it with him to help him feel safer in a strange place. Reply:It is probably a combination of the two. The meds %26amp; being caged for the first time. He may miss you too. That can make a dog not eat. Bet he will when you go see him. Most likely he will have to be on antibiotics for a week or so after he comes home. Not sure what else he will have to take if anything. I'm glad he's alive too.
Reply:There could be a number of reasons why he is not eating. Poor baby. His face may not be as swollen but I bet it still hurts. Do they have him on a feeding tube?

my dream was i was friends with Holly Bridget and Kendra from the girls next door than i went to a restaurant with my family a a familiar face but no names can match then we hung out happily kissing and hugging and talking...it wasn't the waiter it was a boy my age he was my boyfriend in my dream.and we we giving each other just little pecks NOT making out
What should i do???
i landed a new job, and i was trained, along with other people, how to do this new job. on the last week of training, we celebrated and as a farewell to our wonderful trainer. we went out and on that night, i saw a familiar face in the dancing crowd. i went up to him and said "hey you're that dude that works at ____" and he was like "yeah i am." then out of the blue, my trainer started hugging him and tells me that he is her nephew. so we all started dancing together, my whole training group and him and his mates. then my trainer pushes me towards him telling me to dance with him and asking me what i think of him. at the time, he was just a dude whose face i had remembered when I saw him at his workplace, but as the night went on, we ended up at mc donalds chatting for ages all night with another couple he knew (kinda like a double date) and everyone he met up that night and said hello to would confuse me for his gf, one even yelled out "you're in" to him, about me. i got his number,

i dreamt that me and my mom were in a supermarket and i was wearing only lingerie and felt very uneasy and nervous. when i leave the supermarket me and my mom have tempura in our grocery bag, it is night and she decides to drive but gets in the passenger seat not the drivers seat to drive. we drive and go down hill and she starts going really fast and its scary and then we fall off a kind of cliff and suddenly its day and then while we are falling I wish i was in a plane so that i didnt fall and then i fall in clear water and there are a lot of fishes and a fish tries to bite my face but fails to as if it had no teeth. i also dreamt that i went to a local mall to look at clothes not buy them and i saw a familiar face and i said hi and he only looked at me strangely and then i left the mall and a crowd of people are playing basketball and the ball almost hits me in a big way but doesn't.

The day I walked onto the stage to receive my new rank I looked out into the crowd to see they were looking back at me. Although I did not know everyone who was sitting in the large auditorium they all congratulated me for my accomplishment. Yet as I looked at the crowd looking for a familiar face I couldn’t help but seeing that my mom was not there. One of the most important days of my life and I was sharing this moment with a bunch of strangers and my fellow cadets. The more I looked the more I realized that no one was there for me until I saw someone standing up and clapping for me. It was my boyfriend. The only person who has spent the past year of his life by my side and supporting me every step of the way. I couldn’t help but to become teary eyed on stage.
You see this is no ordinary ceremony to many, especially to me. Since my freshman year of high school I have been enrolled in the JROTC program and since my first day I was always determined to become the Battalion Commander and hold the responsibility that I need to make sure that my fellow cadets are in tip top shape, in uniform and in competitions. The ability to know that fellow students would come to me for support and advice is something I envied as I watch other students do the same to Battalion Commanders before me. Once you are enrolled in the JROTC program it grows on you, competitions become important, training is a must do, and you begin to take pride as you stand out in the crowd while you wear your uniform. Other students at my school think that all you do is wear a uniform and go to class, but it’s much more than that. It’s the ability to learn leadership skills, help make a difference when fundraising and food drives took place, learning how to work as a team with other students during drill practices and learning how to be responsible for a uniform. I would make sure that I would try to participate
The day that I did receive my rank my mother was probably at home taking care of my brother or paying to much attention to her new boyfriend. This was very likely since my father had walked out my family less than 4 months ago for some new girl at his job who “caught his eye” so he told my mother. My grandparents, aunts and uncles were either passed or living in other states so they were understandable. Yet, there was still no excuse on why my family was not there for me supporting me as I shined on stage. What could be so much more important than seeing your first born be recognized for a huge accomplishment. As I stood on stage with tears slowly falling down my face I held my head up high and accepted my position with pride.
When I began to walk off the stage I knew that I had set a new goal for myself and many challenges and responsibilities were coming my way. I walked over to my boyfriend as he still stood there awaiting for me with arms wide open. When I approached him, he grabbed my face with both hands looked at me and said “Baby, I’m so proud of you”. The tears from my eyes that were trying to fight from coming down were defeated as he spoke, tears streamed down my face as my boyfriend’s arm were there catching them as he held me. “Thank you” I whispered in his ears and he held me even tighter. My boyfriend was the one true person who was moved by this event as much as I was. He always made it seem that it was him who was winning the award not me but he always made sure to support me and make me realize that this was not a dream and my hard work has finally paid off.

It needs some tidying up, but overall it has potential, particularly if you want to make a few significant changes. As it is, it is more like a journal for emotional release than a college admission essay. Put much less focus on feeling sorry for yourself, and more emphasis on a variety of life achievements and positive things in your life. No one looks better or makes a good impression when complaining about what other people have done to them, no matter how deserved the complaining. Describe more things that you have done, possibly focus on strength in adversity, without such emphasis on blaming your family - they too have their stories, I expect. We cannot choose our families - we just have to accept who they are because we can't change them.
You may need to discuss more than your cadet life. While you have done very well in cadets, a college may look for well rounded people with a variety of experiences to bring to college life.

1) I do not know what country you are in. I am in the U.S. and the term "rank" was immediately unclear without prefacing that you are in a military setting. Use an adjective perhaps such as "cadet" rank to clarify it, because it is right at the start.
2) I could not help noticing that my mom was not there.
3) ... and had supported me every step of the way.
4) I couldn't help becoming teary-eyed on stage.
5) And from my first day I had been determined
6) First sentence in p.2 is a run-on, break it up at a workable point into 2 sentences.
7) Knowing that other students would come to me
