Please do not take offense to this question. If you do not see yourself as being judgemental, then this question does not apply to you. But for the rest who preach to those who dont follow their structure of belief. I wonder do you feel that you are being example of your faith, by judging others who do not follow yours. The word is faith right? This implys a belief of something that can not be seen. So if you have true faith in what you believe in, then there is no need to judge or convert others. Unless it is you who feel you need to be validated by what you believe in. So if that is the case, then who is it that truly lacks faith? The one who says what you believe is acceptable, or the ones who say you can only be accepted if you have faith in what I believe, because the rest is false relgion and false prohets that will lead you astray. Just wondering
Does it seem that all the kind familiar faces on this forum have left, leaving us with the judgemental ones?
Well I am still hanging around. The atmosphere ebbs and flows on this forum. Right now it is ebbing. But yes, I seem to notice a lot more vehemently legalistic types these days. I even have someone who is out to let me know he hates me. I am glad to have my email unavailable to the general demented public. ;-)
Reply:Who are the kind familiar faces you talk about ?
Reply:It does.
Many have left because of all the violations - they don't want to lose their yahoo accounts because it's their primary email.
Reply:i agree with you, btw im very critical of others, i know that, i dont mind though:)
Pagan btw, namaste.
Reply:There are definitely different faces on here now. And it is hard to decipher sometimes (not all the time)which are being sincere and kind. I have noticed alot more judging and less compassionate answers.
Reply:Glad to see a familiar face. I am starting to get very bored with all this. Most the smart and kind people have seemed to vanish and I think I know why.
Reply:Hey! I'm a fairly familiar face.
Just nobody likes my answers.
I am judgemental, I must admit, but, judgemental in my own way.

Reply:Im a familiar face, Ive been here about 8-9 months. I dont feel I am judgemental, I never send anyone to hell though occasionally I may call a question or a poster "stupid" but never just because they dont agree with me.
One thing that bothers me is that not all Christians are "my way or burn" there are some that are, but because WE did not write the Bible we cannot be responsible for its contents. WE are not God and cannot make the judgements for Him. If God exists, Im sure He wants us to know who He really is and not make up a god to fit our needs.
Reply:Yes, many of our friends no longer participate. I miss their intelligence and wit.
Reply:the judjemental do not see thamselves as judjemental, but aren't we all judjemental in some way?
but ur right on the mark. its insecurity they can't face.
and if the exodus continues, i'll save u a seat on the last bus out.
if the extremists let me live that long.
Reply:religion is all about judging
Reply:Many of the posters I seek out do seem to be missing.
Reply:Many of the best and brightest on all sides have abandoned the forum because it is really a waste of time. For me, I remain though because once in a rare whiel someone asks a priceless question worthy of as valuable an answer as I can provide, and the chance to really have to THINK about the topic inspires me.
Reply:fryedaddy, there are judgmental people on this site, and I'm guilty of it at times, just like many others.
What I'm trying to do is to bypass any questions that make me upset or angry because I want to walk in love and compassion to others.
You have valid points, but let me clarify something here. Yes, in our religion we do have faith which is the basis for our beliefs, but there is a big reason why we try to get others to convert.
Try to walk a mile in our mocassins for just a minute.
In my faith, I am told to help others. In fact our teaching shows that if someone has need of something and you can help you should do it. Also, if you see someone hurting or about to harm themselves and it's in your ability to help them, you should try to help them. So, when we see someone doing something that is harmful to themselves or ignoring what we consider the worst possible fate, we want them to avoid that situation. Perhaps our methods are wrong, but most of us share our beliefs not to be "holier than thou" or to be self-righteous or narrow-minded, but because we don't want anything bad to happen to you or to anyone else? Does that make sense?
A good analogy would be if a group of people were on the Titanic and having a wonderful party in the Grand Ballroom, and we saw the glacier, but you refused to believe that the glacier struck because you saw no evidence - our beliefs tell us that we do what we can to get you onto a lifeboat before it's too late. Perhaps if more people took the time to have gotten into the lifeboats on that ill-fated voyage, more people would have been saved in time.
