Do babies think?If so, how?(With no lingual ability?)?

Babies react to seeing familiar faces, sounds, smells etc. But do they 'think' anything when they're just staring you in the face?

thats why when they see the tit comin they get excited because they "think" they are gonna get fed.
Reply:yes babies think, its a way in which they start to learn what to do.
Reply:they are working you out,like what can i get away with ,is she affraid of me can i get her running around me like a mad women possesd,they are very intelligent babies are from day one.for example one of my boys who is 22 now when he was a baby (my first).i had him in a sling round my waist while i was hoovering because he would not stop screeeeeeching.the health visitor came to visit to see how i was getting on and nearly had an attack of the vapours when she saw what i was doing.she did no more than wrapped him up put him in his pram and put him outside in the back garden to my horror it was winter!!!!he shut up and went to sleep.i have never forgotten what she said yuo're in charge he knows you are a nervous mum and he is going to cream it for what it is worth.my other two boys did not stand a chance.although they can't speak babies certainly know what buttons to press.enjoy your baby

Reply:it does not matter if they have lingual ability or not this doesnt affect what they learn as they brains are being formed





if lingual ability was needed then those that are mute or deaf could not learn anything (either)
Reply:They probably think in emotions - hunger, warm/cold, comfort etc. Thinking in words would come later when they learn the words for things. Babies can learn sign language before they speak so there is definitely something going on in there! Most likely "why is that person speaking nonsense to me?!"
Reply:of course they do. they think wheres my mommy? who's gonna feed me? and can somebody please change my diaper. They THINK if they cry they will receive all this.
Reply:i've always imagined they thought in the same way that animals are portrayed in books as thinking
