"Mad World" thoughts?

after reading or listening to this song

what do you think the alternate meanings could be;

All around me are familiar faces

Worn out places

Worn out faces

Bright and early for the daily races

Going no where

Going no where

Their tears are filling up their glasses

No expression

No expression

Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow

No tomorrow

No tomorrow

And I find I kind of funny

I find it kind of sad

The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had

I find it hard to tell you

I find it hard to take

When people run in circles its a very very

Mad world

Mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good

Happy birthday

Happy birthday

And I feel the way that every child should

Sit and listen

Sit and listen

Went to school and I was very nervous

No one knew me

No one new me

Hello teacher tell me what’s my lesson

Look right through me

Look right through me

And I find I kind of funny

I find it kind of sad

The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had

I find it hard to tell you

I find it hard to take

When people run in circles its a very very

Mad world

Mad world

Enlarging your world

Mad world

"Mad World" thoughts?
my alternate meaning is that the world is a cold place and it shall remain like this for many, many ages. Gary Jules perfectly describes our materialistic cold world, it just seems like people are going nowhere these days, no path, no meaning, no purpose, they just walk in useless circles every single day for the rest of their lives until they die kinda hoping someday something meaningful will happen..., strange... But things will get better in the future. I just know it.
Reply:Heres a bunch of pondering on the same question.
Reply:idk. sounds like this guy is singing about his perspective, about how mad this world can turn out to be, ha, with one crazy man like him. it's depressing but if you think hard enough, it does seem like a very 'mad world'.
