Spiritually speaking, does a friendly smile brighten your day?

I was in a bad mood earlier, but a familiar face smiled at me and now I'm feeling much better. Who (real people with two flesh and blood parents only) has that effect on you, and how would you like to thank them?

Spiritually speaking, does a friendly smile brighten your day?
a genuine smile of affection or friendship from anyone can brighten my day.

I teach ESL, and some of my best smiles come from the faces of my students when they overcome a difficult grammar point or when I write a big smiley face and a pentagram ( they dig it!) on their papers.

a smile from someone in traffic when I let them come into the lane.... a smile from a 9 month old baby when I make funny faces.... a smile from my son when I tell him I am proud of him.... a smile from my dog ( they DO smile) when I say the magic word : WALK!.... and a smile from my husband when I hug him close at the end of the day.

When I am on the receiving end of a sweet smile, it always brightens my day. I always thank a smile with a smile in return, and perhaps a blown kiss, under the right circumstances!

two thumbs up for your cool question!

Reply:Yes, a smile always makes me feel better especially when I sense that it may be an awkward moment between me and this person and then that reassuring smile just relaxes me and my shoulders can drop in relief

However, if my bad mood is b/c of my spouse for example then, honestly, only patching things up and seeing him give me an authentic smile will make me feel better

(((TCAS))) lol, I've been hugging you all day!!
Reply:it makes me smile when me customers come in and they are smiling.. they are coming in to pay their bills... something they don't want to do -- who wants to pay their insurance bills.. but if they can do it with a smile on their faces, then it naturally makes me smile!
Reply:well actually, it doesn't when i was on the cross, a lot of people smiled at me, i didn't feel any better, i kept telling them, I'm not the son of god, I'm an atheist, i know there is no god, but they did it anyway.
Reply:yes. smile back. grasshopper. dude.
Reply:Absolutely. A smile is also a charity, and charity is nothing but love in action.

Peace!
Reply:Babies, giggling babies always put me in a good mood, nothing makes me smile and giggle myself more then a laughing smiling baby.
Reply:It certainly does lift the spirits when someone genuinely smiles at you!

When it happens, I try to pay it forward and remember to make eye contact and smile more often when acknowledging others.
Reply:Many people have had the effect on me. They smile and I smile back. It's called courteousness. I'd like to thank God by spreading that kind of love even to people with nicknames like yours.
Reply:I did it earlier today, being invited for lunch with a friend

he made my day, since i have some troubles now :)

thanks for asking this.
Reply:A friendly smile can do wonders for a person. Anyone from your best friend to a perfect stranger can pull this off so easily.
Reply:anyone....strangers...family....loved ones... {{Hugs}} It also brightens my day when someone is in a bad day and I can brighten their day.
Reply:Yes, when my son smiles, I can't help but smile
Reply:My wife..with sex.
Reply:Yes, that is why I like to smile at people as well....
Reply:absolutely! i love smiling! it lets me know that jesus christ is all around!
Reply:Absolutely! :)

Lots of people have that effect on me but particularly my children. I just can't help smiling back when their little faces light up like that.

If it's a friend, sometimes I will write them a note thanking them for giving me a lift.
